A. M. M. Bahauddin

A. M. M. Bahauddin is the Editor and Managing Director of The Daily Inqilab. He was born on 2 March 1960 in Chandpur District into a distinguished Muslim family. He is the eldest son of the late Maulana M. A. Mannan (Rah.), Founder of The Daily Inqilab.

He joined The Daily Inqilab as Editor and has continued to serve in that role ever since. He also served as Chairman of the Editorial Board of the national English daily The Telegraph from 1991 to 1993.

A. M. M. Bahauddin is an Executive Member of the Newspaper Owners' Association of Bangladesh (NOAB), an Executive Member of the Bangladesh Editors' Council, and a Member of the National Press Club.

In addition to serving as Editor of The Daily Inqilab, he has been serving as the Managing Director of the organization since February 2006. Since February 2006 he has also served as President of Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin, the country's largest organization of madrasa teachers, President of the Management Committee of Gausul Azam Jame Mosque in Mohakhali, Dhaka, and President of the Majidia Shah Sufi Yasinia Islamic Foundation in Chandpur.

As a member of government and non-government delegations, he has represented Bangladesh on numerous international visits. Notably, he accompanied the then Prime Minister to the 50th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, held in Cyprus from 19 to 22 October 1993, and to the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the United Nations in New York in 1995.

Under his leadership as President of Bangladesh Jamiatul Modarresin, significant progress has been made in the development of madrasa education, including the establishment of the Islamic Arabic University, the introduction of Bachelor programs in madrasas, and securing recognition of Fazil and Kamil qualifications as equivalent to Bachelor's and Master's degrees respectively. Alongside his professional responsibilities, he has also earned recognition as a social figure and sports enthusiast. In his personal life, he is married and the proud father of two daughters.
